London, July 2025.
It has now been over a month since Joe Emanuel Cuaspa Vargas, a 21-year-old London resident, went missing in unclear circumstances. His family is still waiting for answers, while the Metropolitan Police remain silent. The lack of transparency and communication has turned their lives into a nightmare.
Who Was Joe?
Joe was a sweet, kind-hearted young man, full of dreams and deeply loved by his family. He was studying Business Administration and working hard alongside his parents, saving every penny to pursue his dream of opening a restaurant with his own original recipes. He loved football, swimming, spending time in church, and he was known for his gentle presence and strong work ethic.
What Happened?
On June 2, 2025, Joe went to Battersea Park to enjoy his free afternoon. Between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m., he reportedly fell into the River Thames. At the time, he was wearing a dark grey zip-up hoodie, black track pants with white stripes down the sides, and Nike trainers. Since then, no official update has been given regarding his whereabouts.
A Family’s Living Nightmare
Joe’s parents have faced this tragedy completely alone in London, while his brother remains in Colombia caring for their grandfather, who has cancer. Every day since Joe’s disappearance has been marked by uncertainty, anguish, and emotional torment. The police have made occasional calls, but with incomplete or vague information that only deepens the pain.
Police Silence and Lack of Clarity
The Metropolitan Police have yet to release a full, coherent account of what happened that evening. There have been no regular updates, no concrete findings shared with the family, and no consistent communication channel. The lack of transparency has added emotional distress to an already unbearable situation.
A Call for Solidarity
We ask the Colombian community, the Latin community, and every person who believes in justice and human dignity to join us.
Help us make Joe’s story visible.
Help us demand answers.
Help us hold the system accountable.
Joe matters. His life matters. And his family deserves the truth.
A Call to the Colombian Government and Embassy
We respectfully and urgently request that the Colombian Government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Colombian Embassy in the United Kingdom take action and:
1. Provide legal and emotional support to Joe’s family.
2. Intervene diplomatically with British authorities to move this case forward.
3. Demand transparency and justice in Joe’s name.
